Engineer

Overview

The Engineering Department oversees projects such as the repaving of municipal streets; the installation of new storm sewers and the repair of existing storm sewers; the installation of ramps at street intersections; and the investigation of stop sign requests. Engineering also coordinates special projects such as streetscape improvements; modifications to public buildings; and compliance with the Municipal Stormwater Regulation Program as mandated by the NJDEP.

The water supply system is not part of the Engineering Department's responsibilities. The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission or New Jersey American Water Co. has jurisdiction over this system. Also, the sanitary sewer system is under the jurisdiction of the Pennsauken Sewerage Authority and not the Township Engineering Department
